I spend most of my time working in pastures and barns, traveling from farm to farm to care for different groups of animals. Every herd has its own personality and challenges, so no two days are the same. Whether trimming hooves or shearing wool, I’m always learning and adapting to keep animals healthy and comfortable.

Job Requirements & Duties

  • Respond to grooming service requests and travel to various farms or ranches to care for livestock
  • Transport specialized grooming equipment safely between locations
  • Lead livestock to the area where they are groomed and keep them calm
  • Perform grooming tasks such as clipping fur, shearing wool, and trimming hooves to maintain animal health
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and animals serviced for efficient operations
  • Coordinate with livestock owners or managers to ensure timely billing and payment
  • Practice sustainable and responsible care, protecting animal welfare and minimizing environmental impact

Education & Training

  • A high school diploma and hands-on experience working with livestock are typically needed. Many learn the skills by working alongside experienced professionals.
