I work in a large manufacturing facility divided into several departments. It’s a busy place with multiple shifts and contractors coming and going. The team is very diverse, with people from all over the world working together in the plant.

Job Requirements & Duties

  • Ensures everyone works safely, completes their tasks successfully, and follows all food safety policies
  • Creates processing schedules and develops plans to continuously improve quality and efficiency on the production line
  • Inspect the quality and safety of products at different stages to make sure all products are up to standard 
  • Help to present the company’s brand and maintain the corporate image
  • Set up equipment and ensure that all the jobs are manned
  • Complete production and maintenance reports
  • Give performance feedback to employees and management

Education & Training

  • A university degree in operations management or food engineering is helpful for this career.
  • On-the-job training is also important because each processing plant has its own unique equipment and processes.
