Job Requirements & Duties

  • Develop and implement strategies for introducing and optimizing new crop varieties, considering regional growing conditions and market demands.
  • Conduct field trials to evaluate performance and scalability of new varieties, including yield potential, disease resistance, and environmental adaptability.
  • Provide technical advice and training to farmers on best practices for cultivation, pest control, and sustainable agriculture.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to design and execute plans for commercializing agricultural products, ensuring alignment with consumer needs and regulatory standards.
  • These responsibilities may vary slightly depending on the employer and region.

Education & Training

  • Due to the research nature of this career, as well as multi-project management, a Master’s level degree is recommended, while a PhD is preferred.
