As I reflect on my more than 30-year career at FCC and consider the future for young people, the opportunities in the Canadian agriculture and food industry are almost limitless.

Let's Spark Curiousity in Agriculture & Food Careers

Engage.

Inspire.

Amplify.

Impact.

There are incredible stories to be shared about the diverse and exciting careers in agriculture and food. thinkAG is our platform to increase awareness and interest in agriculture and food careers among teens across the country. Learn more about thinkAG

There are more job opportunities in agriculture than there are people to fill them. If the industry can recruit the right people with the right skills, it could become more productive than auto manufacturing and aerospace combined (RBC Thought Leadership, 2019).

Exposing Canadian school-aged children to the many job opportunities is a goal of Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C). If you work in agriculture and food – we need YOU to communicate the value of building a career in this important industry.

Through thinkAG initiatives and partner support, we are working to…

  • Help close the industry’s labour gap
  • Build the next generation of informed consumers, influential thought leaders, and skilled Canadians
  • Build awareness around the innovations happening in the agriculture industry
  • Showcase diverse career opportunities waiting for students
  • Support students in their career exploration journey by helping them identify their skills and interests, and then matching them with agriculture careers that could be a fit
  • Create and highlight scholarship opportunities with industry members to provide financial support and encourage critical thinking
  • Provide educators and career counselors with curriculum linked, hands-on learning activities and tools

Together, we can encourage the youth of today and leaders of tomorrow to #thinkAG!
