Important Skills

Customer Service

In this job, the most important day-to-day skill you need is to be comfortable helping people out by problem solving for them, and being empathetic towards their situation.

Multi-tasking

You can be on the phone while one of your co-workers is also talking to you, and a farmer might walk in the door needing your help - all while entering information into a computer database; you need to be able to handle many things happening at the same time!

Patience

Sometimes customers can get upset, or take a long time to explain their situation to you. It’s important that in these situations, you can keep a cool head and continue to walk through their requests in a calm and polite manner.

Verbal Communication

Digital agriculture can be a confusing topic, even for those working in the agriculture industry! I need to ensure I explain the latest trends and recommendations in a way they can understand to make informed decisions.
