Important Skills

Decision Making

Technicians often come to me after noticing a change in fish behavior or eating habits, and I have to very quickly make a decision on whether testing is required or actions needs to be taken to fix the problem.

Planning

A big part of my job is scheduling tasks and managing time efficiently to stay organized so operations run smoothly.

Coaching & Mentoring

A lot of technicians go into the field of aquaculture without much experience beforehand. It’s my role to get them familiar with our very unique biology and set-up, and help them feel supported and valued.
