I work on a production line that has many stages to change a raw food product into a processed food that can be sold to the public.

I follow strict cleaning and safety rules to make sure that the food we’re producing is completely safe for Canadians to eat.

I use specialized machinery to process food in a way that meets our standards of quality.


Potential Salary Range

$12.50 - $15.00 Hourly

I work in a food processing facility, which is a production plant with unique equipment for our specific food products.These plants are fast-paced and high-energy environments. 



Job Requirements & Duties

  • Clean equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Use specialized equipment to transform food products.
  • Prepare all the ingredients and materials needed for the processing of food.
  • Bringing products to different work stations around the plant.
  • Check products for quality control and packaging them into boxes or flats.
  • Write accurate records for inventory control.

Education & Training

  • No specific education is required. Some specific courses may be beneficial for the meat processing industry

Job Outlook

    While automation is making its way into food processing facilities, workers are still in high demand, especially for seasonal food industries
